Bamboo tattoos

Bamboo tattoos are created by hand, using a long tool to guide the needle rather than an electric tattoo machine. At Dream Tattoo Aonang, we offer bamboo tattoos using a small pool of talented bamboo specialists, matching the job to the most suitable artist.

Designs can include Sak Yant script and motifs, masks, animals, figures and small decorative pieces. Bamboo describes the tattooing technique, while Sak Yant refers to a design tradition.

The examples here show hand-poked work ranging from a small lotus at the ankle to larger back compositions. Several photographs show both the tattooing process and the finished design.
