At Dream Tattoo Aonang, hygiene procedures include new sterile needles for each customer, disposable supplies and protective coverings for equipment. This page describes the studio’s working practices and how to care for your tattoo afterwards.
New needles, disposable supplies and gloves
We use new, sterile tattoo needles for every customer. Needles are not shared or reused between customers and are discarded after use. Ink cups and other single-use supplies are also discarded after each customer.
Our artists wear new disposable gloves for each customer. Tattoo machines and other equipment are covered with disposable protective barriers during tattooing.

Equipment and workstation preparation
Before tattooing, the machine grip and body are wrapped with protective tape and plastic. After each customer, this wrapping is removed and discarded.
Tattoo beds are cleaned with alcohol after each customer and covered again with protective plastic wrapping.

Air filtration
The studio operates an Electrolux air purifier during tattooing. Its multi-stage filtration includes a pre-filter, a HEPA 13 filter for airborne particles and an activated carbon filter to help reduce odours and some volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

Consultation, skin preparation and ink
Before tattooing, staff ask every customer about allergies and existing medical conditions. Please tell your artist about any known reactions to skin products, dressings or tattoo ink.
The artist cleans and prepares the skin using alcohol and Betadine. The studio uses Dynamic tattoo ink for both colour and black-and-grey work.
Numbing cream is available on request for an additional charge. Discuss this with the studio before your appointment.
Traditional Thai bamboo tattooing
We offer traditional Thai bamboo tattooing (hand-poked tattoos) through a small pool of bamboo specialists. The artist manually applies the tattoo using a long wooden rod with a tattoo needle attached, rather than an electric machine.
A new wooden rod and a new, single-use sterile needle are used for every customer. Neither is reused between customers. Artists wear disposable gloves during bamboo tattooing.

At the end of your session
After tattooing, staff apply Bepanthen Tattoo Intensive Care Ointment and cover the fresh tattoo with a plastic tattoo dressing. Customers receive a written aftercare guide.
Caring for your tattoo
These general aftercare principles apply to both machine and bamboo tattoos.
Wash your hands before touching the tattoo. When the dressing instructions allow, wash gently with water and a small amount of mild soap, rinse well and pat dry with clean paper towel. Do not scrub, scratch or pick peeling skin. Use aftercare products as directed.
Avoid direct sunlight, swimming in the sea or pool, soaking in baths and saunas as directed by Dream Tattoo staff. Advice is different for tattoos done by machine or bamboo.
For questions about your tattoo or aftercare instructions, contact the studio.
